One moment brooding, the next moment clear, plein air painting a churning spring sky over the Wasatch was both fun and really challenging. On this evening I began three of these paintings in quick succession. I started all three within an hour and a half, facing basically the same direction, and yet they look like completely different places on different days. Things can change quickly over the mountains.
