This soft and fluid painting of Lake Mary was painted en plein air on a weekday morning, before work. It’s a special memory.

Late Summer 2020, and still living in a little one bedroom apartment, we had backpacked up to the lake after work on a Wednesday, just to spend the night somewhere else. It was worth it just to wake up there with the first light and sip camp coffee by the lake as the sun rose. My partner got in a little fishing while I painted this. We still made it back to our apartment and our computers by 9:00am. 

It took some effort but it felt like such an illicit treat!
